What should I expect during my appointment?

Appointments are virtual and usually last 55 minutes. During out first visit, we’ll focus on your symptoms, nutrition, and health history. By the end of the first call, we'll have a better idea of what might be at the root of your symptoms and you'll have 1-2 small steps you can take towards feeling better. â€‹

What's the difference between a Registered Dietitian and a nutritionist?

To become a registered dietitian, practitioners must have completed a bachelor's degree and at least 1200 hours in an accredited internship. Registered dietitians practice evidenced-based nutrition and must keep up with continuing education, as well as licensing and credentialing with the state.

The term "nutritionist" is not regulated and a person who calls themselves a nutritionist may or may not have any schooling or certification to use this title. Nutritionists cannot call themselves dietitians unless they are licensed.

My goal is to empower my clients to meet their goals and feel confident navigating their food environment on their own. The number of sessions you might need on your journey is different from person to person, but it's rare to meet that goal with just one session. We can work together to schedule you on a frequency that works best for you.

How many sessions will I need?

Yes. I see clients through insurance via Nourish, a secure telehealth platform. Many clients are surprised to learn that nutrition counseling is covered by their insurance, often with little to no out-of-pocket cost.

Coverage depends on your specific plan, but insurance eligibility and benefits are verified before your first appointment so there are no surprise bills.

I accept Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem, United, and more.

Medicare coverage for nutrition counseling is unfortunately limited and does not typically include support for gut health conditions like IBS.

If you’re on Medicare and want to see what your options are, please fill out this contact form and let's talk about your options.

Do you take health insurance?

A handout gives information. Working together gives you context, strategy, and support.

IBS and gut symptoms are influenced by more than food alone. We look at the full picture—including digestion, motility, fiber type, hydration, eating patterns, stress, and sleep—so you’re not stuck guessing or cycling through advice that doesn’t apply to you.

How is this different from a handout?

You can schedule an appointment directly using the link below. If you’re unsure whether booking makes sense or have questions about insurance, you can also reach out through the contact form above.

How do I get started?

If you are unable to attend a scheduled session, please make sure to cancel at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your session, you will be charged a $75 cancellation fee.

What is your cancellation policy?
